Specifies the general characteristics of fibre ropes whatever their constituent material. Applies to all ropes conforming to ISO 1140, ISO 1141, ISO 1181, ISO 1346 and ISO 1969. Contains normative references, general, manufacture, lay, main characteristics and tolerances, marking, labelling, packaging, invoicing and delivered length, and examples of rope construction.
